Steve Gill

Originally from Invercargill, Steve then gained his law degree at Otago University. He has spent most of his working life in the Hutt Valley.

He is married with three adult children, and in his spare time enjoys running, travelling and sharing a wine or two with friends.

Lynda Pointon

Born and educated in the Hutt Valley, Lynda graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1986.  After working in private practice for a number of years Lynda spent time raising her family of four before returning to the law in 2005.   She joined the Steve Gill Law team in 2016.

Lynda’s current areas of practice are property law including commercial conveyancing and leases, trust law, elder law including Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and estate planning, relationship property matters and administration of deceased estates.

Outside of work, Lynda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, philosophy reading and renovating her home.

Melissa Gibbs

Melissa began working for the firm in early 2009 as an Office Assistant.

After enjoying the conveyancing work, Melissa decided to formalise her knowledge by completing a Legal Executive Diploma and is now a Fellow with NZILE. Being a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives, is recognition for more than 10 years working as a Registered Legal Executive and gives her the additional ability to take Statutory Declarations.

In 2019, Melissa finished a Diploma in Conveyancing and applied to become a member of the NZ Society of Conveyancers, as a Conveyancing Practitioner.

When not at work, Melissa can be found enjoying her Eastbourne garden, re-designing and painting the interior of her house or spending time with her husband, family and grandchildren.

Rochelle McIvor

Rochelle joined the firm as a Legal Secretary in 2011 when she returned to the workforce after being a full-time mum to her 2 boys.  She moved into the Practice Manager role in 2017 and manages the day to day running of the trust account.  Throughout her time with the firm she has worked with the conveyancing team assisting with sale contracts.

Outside of work she enjoys being outdoors for a walk or hike and spending time with her family and friends.

Linda Solly

Born and raised in Lower Hutt she has spent all her working life in the Hutt Valley.

Linda started working for Steve as his Legal Secretary/Personal Assistant in August 2000. She provides secretarial support, document drafting, and assists with phone enquiries for criminal, traffic and family matters.

In her spare time she enjoys reading, biking, planning trips away, and spending time with her friends and family.
